I have been roared at by Shelly . I'm supposed to be giving three writing tips but it seems that the very moment i try to concentrate to write, my hands just wouldn't barge. But since, its my best blogging buddy whom has tagged me in this game, i will still try to play along.

Writing Tips:
Tip 1 : Many years ago, i used to learn this other language - Japanese. At first, i was eager and glad that i picked up this language and i managed to go through the first level though...but here comes the problem, once one do not practise at all, that language will be forgotten and its just the case for me, i forgot on how to speak but still can remember some parts of the language only. Hence, practise, practise, practise....

Tip 2 : Along the way while learning the above new language, there were language obstacles that one will have to clear in order to advance further. Obstacles of shyness can hinder as if you don't speak out, you'll never learn to speak properly. Hence, there are obstacles that we need to clear if we were to sit down and write, obstacles like time, space, commitments can hinder us and prevent us from writing. Put your priorities right and you'll be on the right track again...

Tip 3 : When we are over-confident in ourselves and think that everything that we write or say is always correct or right. We should not be boastful but at times should admit the mistakes that we made along the way like if someone were to give you constructive critism, i think we should be humble and accept it.

Well, here is my 3 writing tips. But as i do not have alot of blogging friends, i will leave it to my readers to decide whether they would like to pick up this challenge.

My first challenge

I was both pleased at how i could try my skill in writing a very short story working from what my dear newly aquainted blogging friend - pinhole . This renewing of an old challenge is quite fun and i'm glad to be part of it. Hence, this is how i will start from the challenge in bold:

She couldn’t place the accent; it was thick, yet, undefined. Suddenly, from just hearing those voices again brings her back to their usual place where they will just sit and chat about whatever that comes into their minds. Naruto was a brilliant young fellow and has come to know Yuki through some odd circumstances. Naruto’s car couldn’t brake properly in time and somehow it hit someone crossing the street in the busy part of Shinjuku, Tokyo, where youngsters will hang around trying to find their identities with their so-called peers. Yuki was shopping happily after she got her first paycheck and was preparing to cross the zebra crossing when Naruto’s car came speeding towards her direction. By the time, Yuki was awake, she was injured so badly that she needs to sit on the wheel chair for some time to recover. Naruto had felt rather cross with himself and at the same time couldn’t forgive himself as well. He seems to be trapped in those feelings but it was Yuki that brought him out of those terrible thoughts that seems to embrace him whenever he thinks back about the incident that happened back then.

Naruto was a wonderful science student, graduated from a well-known university in Japan, but one fateful day everything seems to have worked wrongly for him. He was in a middle of an experiment when there was a sudden earthquake, it shattered everything that was inside the lab and Naruto was trapped inside the science lab. He was rescued thereafter but it changed his life every since that incident, he was able to read another human being’s mind. It all seemed pretty strange to him but he liked it in that he was able to read and act according to what the other human’s likes or dislikes. All the while, when Naruto was enjoying his new found powers, a dark sinister shadow lurks nearby watching, yearning to have this young fellow to be under his tutorage. Nowadays, Naruto has been having this nightmare that seems to haunt him forever. At times, he will wake up sweating profusely as if the dream was so real. This night, was no different from other nights, the same dream happened again, he was sweating again and was awaken from his dream. “Are you alright, N’to San?” asked poor Yuki whom was laying beside him on the bed. Yuki was really worried sick from the many nightmare episodes that Naruto was having lately, but whenever Yuki asks on details of his dream, he would change the subject or stare blankly into the ceiling. “I’m fine, Yuki”, answered Naruto, as he was able to sense the frightened Yuki and from reading her thoughts sounding out to him. “Its my work, I’ll be alright after my busy deadline is over”. But Yuki could feel that Naruto is undergoing some change in his sleeping patterns. While they were dating in their early days, he would sleep pretty early, but now he seems to be sleeping less than 8 hours than a normal human being needs. He would go to sleep at the strike of midnight and his nightmares will pursue him till he wakes up drenched in his sweat. Amazingly, he doesn’t look the least tired the next day and continues his life like nothing has happened the other night. One morning, Yuki was waking up from her bed and was heading straight to the toilet when she saw something that made her want to puke. Naruto was fishing the goldfish from the fish tank and eating them raw. Yuki rushed to the toilet and vomited into the white basin, suddenly she could feel her goose-bumps raising and Naruto was beside her by the basin. Somehow, Naruto with incredible speed was able to come to her side without her knowing it. Yuki screamed and fainted there on the spot. Yuki could feel herself being carried over to the bed and gently laid her onto the soft bed, her mind was quickly filling up with those happy days together with Naruto, how they will sit by one another and staring into those deep blue sky. All so sudden, she could feel someone calling out her name. “Yuki……Yuki…….”. She opened her eyes and images of Naruto hungrily eating up those poor goldfish makes her nausea again, she knows that she has to get out of this room but her legs and body just didn’t seem to obey her at this time and somehow that thick and yet undefined accent came ringing through the air towards its recipient – HER!!!

The Movie - National Treasure - The Book of Secrets

This day, i had this mood for watching a movie and went to the local cinema. I was deciding on which movie to watch, its either the National Treasure, the book of secrets (with Nicolas Cage) or I am Legend (with Will Smith). Finally, i chose to watch the National Treasure, the book of secrets which is i guess on par with the earlier release of National Treasure. The cast is more or less the same with the exception of Ben's mum coming into the movie. Ben's mum is a teaching professor and is a expert in translating old Columbia times symbols. With the help of his whole family and Ridley Pool, they managed to discover the hidden Golden City.

At the end of the movie, both Ben and his wife was reconciled because of their differences which they have ironed out during their quest which applies the same to his divorced dad and mum. Ridley Poole got his red Ferrari back as a gift from the President of the White House. Ben Gates ancestry name was cleared of the bad publicity and was accorded as the founders of the new national treasure.

I was again asked to teach on the books of the bible and this time round, i was teaching 1Peter Chapter 1 - 2:3. It was the writings of Peter and its audiences was targetted at Christians suffering for the noble cause of being a true christian following Gods ways but troubles seems to be coming from all directions, their neighbours and government authorities. Peter wrote to these Christians to encourage them, explain to them why suffering occurs, and to remind them of their eternal reward at the end of this earthly life.

I started with the class doing a exercise of wrapping a cloth which is a towel around their waist, explaining to them that in Peter's time, somewhere in the Middle East area, typically the people will wear cloaks to work and hence, they will fold it to the waist area securely so that it doesn't fall off while working. Hence, Peter uses this example in verse 13 where one must gird up the loins of the mind, be sober, and rest our hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Be ever ready and be holy as He is holy, while we also ran through some old testament scriptures (Leviticus 20:7-8)to prove that He is holy and asks that his people to be holy too and who sanctifies (who sets you apart)you as well.

We are all human beings, we are not angels or perfect beings, we are born of flesh and blood, we want to satisfy our cravings for our needs and wants. I long to have the best this world can offer, look at the TV commercials, aren't they kept on advertising that the "The Sky is the limit"? Everyone is chasing their own dreams, the best of this world can offer. Are they wrong in doing so? I want the best that is for me and only for me, i want the best Handphone there is available, the best Car that is available, the best Housing that is available, the best girlfriend that is available, the best friends that is available and so many and the list goes on.....

Oh well, mankind can have no end in satisfying their desires, needs and wants. That was how i behaved in my old self, now with this new self, i try to live within my means, trying everyday to selflessly deny this self but trying to live a life worthy of the Lord's calling. God help me this pitiful soul to carry his cross daily and look to thee for strength and power.

At times and i guess most of the time, i fall into this trap where i instead of being submissive to God's will wants to overturn that and want God to listen to my needs and wants. When God doesn't grant my wishes, i throw tantrums and refuse to listen to God or read his words in the bible. My Petrol Kiosk

There is this petrol kiosk that is just infront of my block or HDB flat. Now, this petrol kiosk is always packed with cars, trucks and motorcycles during peak hours as drivers will come by to pump petrols before driving back home. Whenever i peek out of my windows, i could catch a glimpse of all the cars, trucks and motorcycles driving into the petrol kiosk pumping petrol. The cars range from BMW, Mercedes, Sports Car and many different brands of trucks as well. My friend is driving a truck and i thought it was quite cool to have a truck as its really down to earth and practical too. Her truck needs to pump in petrol for twice a week and altogether it costs around 30 plus over dollars to pump to the truck's full tank here in Singapore. Books which my friend owns

As you all know, that during this incamp reservist period where i will be in for 3 week plus, i will have some time on my own where i can catch up on my hobby - reading. I love reading and catching up with books which i have borrowed from the library or from some friends. I have a friend whom has gone to states and i have approached her to borrow 4 books. The 4 books are entitled : The Brothers Karamazov, A Man in Full, The Great Novels of Thomas Hardy and lastly The Stonewycke Legacy. Of all the books which i have borrowed from her, she said that The Brothers Karamazov is a well sought after book and many have read this book which was by Mr Fyodor Dostoyevsky. A timely and classic novel about 4 brothers whom have murdered their father in this story. Since then, i have started to lay my hands on this book and i found it quite captivating turning those pages but some parts could be boring and deep as well. But is okay, i need some books by me to keep those time going on.

You have to see this to believe it that my friend has some good collection of books in her book shelves. Different authors could be found here and i just wonder how she get rid of her books when she decided to add in more to her collection. A story of an avid gambler

My dad was a avid gambler and he used to gamble all his salary whenever he receives his paycheck at the end of the month. So how does my mum makes sure that he brings money back to the house before even entering the gambling dens is that she will wait for him by his workplace and makes sure that she sees him and gets her allowances before he heads off to his favorite hobby - gambling!

Throughout the younger days, my dad will just go to any gambling dens and if he comes back home with a smile on his face, that will usually mean that he was won some money off the gambling dens but if he comes back home with a sour face, we all will know that he has lost his money and we will make sure that we are out of his way. And hence, since his favorite hobby is gambling, he does not have any savings at all at the end of the day! Whenever he has lost all his money, he will go and borrow from anyone that he knows and will tell them that he will repay them at the end of the month. But when the end of the month comes, he will usually forgets all his debts and goes on gambling like nothing of any debt has crossed his path.

Now that he is old, he now concentrates on his work and seldom gambles now, i guess maybe its the age catching up or that he has finally realised that gambling has caused his whole youth wasted which he could have spent time doing something useful when he was in his younger days. However, during our festival periods, he will usually round up some of his friends and have a round of simple card games to celebrate the festival periods which i think its okay for killing leisure times and catching up with old friends.

A new house

My good friend had his house renovated and it was a pretty good job i must say in terms of the over all design of the whole house. He had his floor retiled, repainted and new furnitures he has ordered for his newly renovated house. I felt nice when i entered his newly renovated place and i can feel the happiness and gladness of his family since this whole project started and ended on a happy note.

His family was relocated to our church building for a months time, during this whole time, i guess they felt the inconvenience of the whole place as this is not their place of abode. In terms of transportation, they would still have to walk a bit of journey before reaching the train station. However, they had plenty of space to play around since we worship in a home church, the congregation bought a semi-detached house and we were blessed to have this place for our worship services.

Finally, their house was ready to move in again. This friend of mine and his family were very excited to see their new place. I had a opportunity to visit the new place before everyone else. I took a tour of his newly renovated house and i fell in love with his toilet. It was stylishly done and had a shower enclosure built in as well. The Tapswhich was installed in the whole house was minimalist and modern and i must say, they sure have a lot of taste and chic which they must be very proud of coming back to this house to live again!

At last, the year is coming to the third quarter now and i am beginning to feel the holiday moods swinging in again. Don't you also feel it in the air too? had her nephews down to our country for a couple of months staying with her. They are both very adorable but kids are kids, they tend to play around and often their Aunt will step in to discipline them together with her room mate whom will also watch the kids when she is not around.

When both of the kids were in church, they seem to be well-behaved, they will run up and greet the visitors with a cheerful "Good Morning" and it brightens up all the church member whom were there to attend service with them. Time flies and soon their Grandpa and Grandma came to pick the boys up and before the boys left this time around, i was trying to get together some souvenirs to let the boys bring back home. I saw this site called Karate Depot.com was offering authentic ninja uniform made of cloth and complements it with split toe ninja boots and socks and a black wooden ninja sword to make this set. Sizes run from a small child up to 6’5” 250 lbs which will be perfect gifts for the kids as Halloween is around the corner. this evening. It was a nice meeting with a few congregations meeting together. Our speaker was from states. He was a "Ang Mo" or a westerner whom spoke good chinese and shame to we whom are not able to even speak good chinese language.

Today, his lesson was on How did Jesus show his love to us - mankind. There were four points that he made.

1) On the sixth day, he created man and women in his likeness. He did not choose the birds in the air, the animals that walk but he chose human kind to be made like him - that was how he showed that he loves us.

2) God let his son to die on the cross for all of us - sinners, not just for his friends, neighbours, family but for everyone - that was how he showed that he loves us. Even on the day of his death on the cross where some question that if he is God, he could save himself from this cross. But he chose the Father's will and completed his wishes. Its not about whether he has the ability to do it, he has walked on water, let the dead come back alive, he has shown so much miracles but yet, people were still stubborn and stiff-necked and wouldn't believe in him. And if he did saved himself from the cross, then the whole world would not be saved at all.

3) He gave us his word - the Bible. The Bible was our light to our way and path. Often the light is the opposite of the darkness and God wants us to follow that light which is the bible and the light to our path so that we can walk according to what God wants us to live our lives. Often, we make our own decision or choices in life and is walking away from the light and into the darkness. The bible is the living word of our Mighty Lord, and if we read it daily and follow according to what he wants us to do, he is going to be happy and his name will be glorified.

I came back really renewed and revived and yearning to go the next day to listen again to what he is gonna teach next.

higher education is what i am going to advise my kid sister whom has just graduated in her diploma studies in business. Our Sunday Speaker today came from Houston, Texas. He shared with us on 1Timothy chapter 2. It was a good chapter coz it was about prayers. At times, we don't know what to pray for, hence its at times good to ask our God what to pray for. It has never occurred to me to pray for our country's rulers or those that can change the lives and standards for the people that lived in it. Thus, now i pray that God will be with those and help them to have good morale standings.

two families that i personally know of. One family lost their daughter due to a failure of her organs which was tormenting her for some time and at last, she was able to be with the Lord.

Another family lost their second son. He was driving his new car which was a present from his father to allow him to drive to and fro to high school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Another van was trying to override his car and both collided. Van's driver was killed on the spot and my friend was hospitalized. Half of his body was badly damaged and he went to be with our Lord a few days later. He donated his kidneys to some kid whom needed the organs which was also his parents wishes.

The place that i work in...

is still using the old telephone system which is a complete failure to what i think of it. I am a part-time receptionist with this company in which i now work for. This is a country club in its own rights, although it doesn't own its own golf course.

My routine work involves me to be in contact with members booking their tennis courts, mahjong rooms, and handling telephone enquiries. book of the bible which i like till today! I was preparing my notes for my sunday bible class on the last chapter of this marvellous and encouraging book. Written by Paul with great spiritual meaning and even applies to nowadays christians.

Learn from Paul in his times of chains and distress, though he is physically captured but his spirit and soul is with the churches whether or not was he the one whom has planted those churches. What i learnt from this great man - he learns to be contented in everything that he does coz' Christ is in him and he is in Christ. He has gained Christ, have you?

My co-worker's son...

was a brilliant young chap. He did his mother proud, when he won the prestigious award in his batch while studying in school. Later on, while working on a full time job, he continued to further his higher education in his related fields. His mother whom was my co-worker seldom see her son these days, because of his busy working schedule and coping with his night time studies. His mother was quite worried for him and often will try to cook his favourite dishes or make some tonics for him to consume which is believed to help anyone whom is tired or feeling fatigue all the time.

Today, i was explaining to my co-worker of how this online mba program goes about.
